About Querencia

Querencia climbs the hills above the Tourist Corridor at kilometer 27.5 of the Transpeninsular Highway, within the municipality of San José del Cabo. It is a gated community of more than two thousand acres that runs from high desert down to the shore of the Sea of Cortez, where its beach club sits. Downtown San José del Cabo is roughly fifteen minutes away by car and Los Cabos International Airport about twenty; Cabo San Lucas is a little over half an hour, at the far end of the corridor.

Ownership comes as custom homesites or finished residences, spread across neighborhoods including La Cresta, Casitas at La Montaña, El Lago, El Valle and Las Verandas, plus ocean residences beside the beach club. Access is controlled, and use of the facilities is tied to membership, which Querencia structures generationally: privileges extend to a member’s parents, children and grandchildren. Campo Bajo, a par 72 laid out over more than three hundred acres, was Tom Fazio’s first project in Mexico and opened in 2001; the club has announced a second Fazio course, Campo Alto. There are over ten miles of hiking and biking trails, a Canyon Club with pump track, soccer field and skate park, and a beach club above Playa Acapulquito, a surf break.
