About Palmilla

Palmilla sits on a rocky point over the Sea of Cortez, near kilometer 27 of the Transpeninsular Highway, on the San José del Cabo end of the Tourist Corridor. Downtown San José and its gallery district are roughly ten minutes away by car; Los Cabos International Airport is about twenty to twenty-five minutes; Cabo San Lucas and its marina are around half an hour to the west. The peninsula holds three things at once: the One&Only Palmilla resort, the Palmilla Golf Club, and the residential enclave of Villas del Mar.

Villas del Mar, founded in 1995 next door to the One&Only, is the residential core of Palmilla: a guarded entry with 24-hour security, and a mix of oceanfront villas, hillside casitas, haciendas, condominiums and homesites to build on. Inside the gates are parks, gardens, walking trails and golf-cart-friendly lanes. Club Ninety Six, the residents’ private beach club, offers oceanfront dining and pools; Club Espíritu houses the gym and spa. Views run out over the water and across the bay toward San José del Cabo.

Palmilla Golf Club was Jack Nicklaus’s first signature design in Latin America: 27 holes across three nines — Arroyo and Mountain, opened in 1992, and Ocean, added in 1997 — with Mountain and Arroyo reserved for club members and One&Only guests. Palmilla Beach is one of the area’s genuinely swimmable beaches, Blue Flag certified, set in a protected cove with snorkeling and working fishing pangas. The address suits a buyer who wants walkable beach, resort services and a name the market already knows.
