The Great Wave: Aman, St. Regis, and Soho House Are Transforming Los Cabos Into the Ultra-Luxury Destination of the Century

There are moments in the history of a destination when the accumulation of signals becomes certainty. Los Cabos is living one of those moments right now. Over the next two years, the region will receive nine new hotel properties from the world's most selective brands — a concentration of capital and brand intent without precedent in any destination in Mexico, or arguably in Latin America.

The most resonant announcement is Amanvari. The Swiss group Aman, known for its sub-40-room retreats and rates starting at USD 1,500 per night, will arrive at Costa Palmas, on the East Cape, in summer 2026 (opening announced for August 1). It is Aman's first property in Mexico: 18 freestanding casitas facing the Sea of Cortez, plus a limited collection of branded residences. Much of that residential collection sold before opening — in the language of luxury real estate, that is the clearest validation there is.

St. Regis Los Cabos at Quivira will open in summer 2026 with 120 rooms, 60 residences, and a restaurant helmed by chef Carlos Gaytán, the first Mexican chef to earn a Michelin star. This combination — the institutional consistency of the St. Regis with the gastronomic credibility of Gaytán — positions the project as the most complete from a lifestyle perspective in the entire region.

Soho House, the brand that best embodies the concept of curated community for the global creative and entrepreneurial elite, also has a date: the second half of 2026 at Cabo del Sol, with 45 residences, 5 villas, a beach club, and its iconic Soho Health Club. If there is one indicator that a destination has crossed the threshold into "world-class city for the global elite" status, it is the arrival of Soho House.

The Park Hyatt Los Cabos, which opened in December 2025 at Cabo del Sol, adds 163 rooms (88 of them suites) and the largest wellness center on the Baja California Peninsula — 59,000 square feet dedicated to fitness, spa, and recovery. By 2027, Conrad Los Cabos will add 130 rooms and 40 residences of Legorreta-designed architecture. By 2029, Raffles and Delano will arrive on the East Cape, extending the ultra-luxury corridor beyond the Corridor.

What these nine properties share — Aman, St. Regis, Soho House, Park Hyatt, Grand Hyatt, Conrad, SIRO, Delano, Raffles — is not luxury per se. It is selectivity. None of these brands enters a destination that does not meet their own standards of infrastructure, security, connectivity, and clientele. Their simultaneous presence in Los Cabos is, in itself, the most powerful investment argument any analyst could construct.

For the buyer considering a property in Los Cabos today, the message is unambiguous: you are arriving before the market these brands are about to create.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which luxury brands are opening in Los Cabos?

Over the coming years, arrivals include: Amanvari (Costa Palmas, August 1, 2026), St. Regis at Quivira (summer 2026), Soho House at Cabo del Sol (second half of 2026), Park Hyatt (already open, December 2025), Conrad (2027), and Raffles and Delano on the East Cape (around 2029).

Why does the arrival of these brands matter to a buyer?

These brands only enter destinations that meet their standards of infrastructure, security, and clientele. Their arrival often precedes appreciation: when an ultra-luxury brand anchors an area, surrounding land values tend to rise in the following years.
