Cabo del Sol is an 1,800-acre development at the heart of the Los Cabos Corridor, on the Cabo San Lucas side. It brings together two golf courses — the private Cove Club (formerly the Ocean Course) and Tom Weiskopf's Cabo del Sol Course — and a lineup of hotel brands unmatched in the area: Four Seasons Resort & Residences, Hacienda del Mar (Autograph Collection), Grand Fiesta Americana, and Park Hyatt, with a Soho House announced. The residential offer runs from branded condominiums to oceanfront villas and homesites at the Cove Club.
View Cabo del Sol properties →There is a rule in Los Cabos we have watched play out again and again: where the great hotel brands arrive, land values follow. If that rule has an epicenter today, it is Cabo del Sol.
The densest brand lineup on the Corridor
Across its 1,800 acres live more hospitality brands than in any other development in the area: the Four Seasons Resort & Residences Cabo del Sol, the Hacienda del Mar (a Marriott Autograph Collection hotel), the Grand Fiesta Americana, and the Park Hyatt Los Cabos as the newest addition. Add to that an announced Soho House — the group's first house in Mexico when it opens. Each of those flags brings its own clientele, its own restaurants, and its own calendar, and they all share one address.
For a buyer, that means two things. The first is practical: you live with the services of several resorts minutes from your door. The second is financial: the brand-to-value effect we documented in our investment analysis — Montage and One&Only proved it in their day — is happening here in real time.
The golf: two courses, two characters
The original oceanfront course, today the Cove Club Golf Course (formerly the Ocean Course), is the private piece of the development, with the Jack Nicklaus design that made this coastline famous. The second, Tom Weiskopf's Cabo del Sol Course, winds through desert arroyos with ocean views and welcomes public play. One course for the members, one for the rest of the world — both inside the same gate.
Ánima Village: everyday life stopped being a twenty-minute drive
Until recently, living on the Corridor meant driving into Cabo or San José for almost everything. That just changed inside the development itself.
Ánima Village opened at Cabo del Sol as an open-air village — not an enclosed mall — with roughly eighty spaces planned across retail, dining and services. The design is by Sordo Madaleno, one of Mexico's most established architecture firms — Antara and Andares are theirs. The scale shows it: streets you actually walk, stone, gardens and fountains instead of an air-conditioned corridor.
Brands already open include Ferragamo, Hugo Boss, Coach, Golden Goose, Zadig & Voltaire, Zimmermann, Skims, Lululemon, Alo Yoga, Sephora, Nike, Abercrombie & Fitch, All Saints, Birkenstock, Columbia and Salomon. For food, Cream Cafe is permanent and Las Venenosas runs as a Baja street-food pop-up from January through March.
The piece nobody expects is Arte Abierto: a contemporary art space built into the village, which opened with a show by Abraham Cruzvillegas.
For a buyer here the detail matters more than it looks. The difference between a weekend house and a house you can actually live in comes down to exactly this — whether bread, dinner and a store are three minutes away or half an hour.
Where you live
The most exclusive piece is the Cove Club: oceanfront homes, villas, and homesites around the private course, with its own beach club. Then come the branded residences — Four Seasons condominiums with the hotel's services — and neighborhoods such as Brisas and Enclave Azul, with ocean-view homes and condominiums.
Our inventory currently holds 13 properties in Cabo del Sol, from USD $1.2M to $9.9M: branded condominiums, villas, homes, and Cove Club homesites. That is a wider entry range than Palmilla or Chileno Bay, with the same brand engine pushing value.
The lifestyle
Life here leans on the resorts: the restaurants and spas of four flags, the Cove Club's beach club, and golf at home. Cabo San Lucas — its marina, restaurants, and nightlife — sits a few minutes down the highway, without living inside the noise.
The location
Cabo del Sol occupies the stretch of the Corridor closest to Cabo San Lucas, where the desert steps down to the Sea of Cortez. The international airport sits at the other end of the Corridor, a reasonable drive for frequent travelers.
Golf membership types, and which one you get
In Los Cabos "having golf" means very different things depending on where you buy, and it pays to understand that before signing rather than after.
There are **private** courses, played only by members and their guests. There are **semi-private** ones, holding tee times for members and opening the rest. And there are **resort or public** courses, where anyone books.
The part that surprises buyers: buying the house does not always get you the membership. In some communities it comes with the property; in others you apply separately and there may be a waiting list; in others still the membership transfers with the house when the previous owner held one. Three different worlds under the same word.
The questions that settle it: does the membership come with this house or is it applied for separately? Is there a waiting list today? What does it include — golf only, or the beach club and restaurants too? Can guests play, and how often?
Ask it in writing before you make an offer. It is one of the things that most changes what living there is worth, and one of the least likely to appear in the listing.
Cabo del Sol is for the buyer who wants to purchase where the map is being redrawn — with global brands putting their capital next door. The next step is to see what is available today.
